What We're Learning

Reading- We have begun the features of a non- fiction text. The students love finding examples of the features inside the books they're reading. We will switch over to non-fiction for guided reading groups as well.

Writing- The reading unit pairs perfectly with beginning informational writing. We will discuss main topics vs. strong topic. We will also discuss adding relevant supporting details.

Math- We will continue to work on multiplication strategies ( number line, skip counting, arrays, grouping). We will have many fun activities this week that include Monster Arrays and Spooky City.

Grammar- We will discuss and practice regular verbs and irregular verbs by playing charades.(i.e.- eat/ ate)

Spelling- List #8 ck/k patterns

Science- We've enjoyed reading about Fossils and how they are formed. I'm looking forward to a hands-on experiment on Friday.
